The establishment of the National Examinations Council (NECO) in April 1999, is a culmination of reaction of the Federal Government to widespread escalating agitations for a national examination outfit that would be responsive to the Nigerian needs and demands as well as cope with the annually increasing number of secondary school candidates to take Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) nationwide. Neco Examination Type:
- National Common Entrance Examination (NCEE)
- Junior School Certificate Examination (JSCE) for Federal Unity Colleges
- Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) for both internal and external candidates
These examination is conducted on a yearly basis.

Eligibility:
- Applicant must be a Nigerian
- Must be holder of any of M. Sc, B. Sc., HND in any discipline plus at least a years experience
- Age between 18 and above
How to Apply
Go to NECO office and submit the following credentials:
- National Identity card
- Certificate of Origin
- Birth Certificate/Declaration of Age
- M. Sc,or B. Sc., or HND Certificate
- NYSC Discharge/Exemption
- Passport photograph
Application Deadline: Six week from the date of publication
